Loren Berger is interested in the elemental in photography; the reduction of a scene into one or two primary details. In this regard, she seeks to construct emblems from the everyday and the mundane while walking the streets of New York City -- a segment of graffiti and a piece of scaffolding here, a bare tree branch there.
